Default Cool two-tone paint

Has anyone done something like this to their mustang? Got any pictures of neat 2 tone paint schemes? I have a convertible and was thinking black for the top and Prowler Orange for the sides. Very undecided at this point. I still have about a month before the body shop is even close to paint. Check out the link below and tell me what you think.

Well, you would certainly have something different. Where would the two colors meet?

I like those pics, It lets you see how ruff somthing can look before you add the paint. All these customs comming out (right brothers ect. ) is cool to see that you can make anything you want just go cut some metal and shape it then weld it.

And that looks more of a red than an orange.

I am still pondering that one. The lines on the Mustang and Cuda are not totally different. The both have an area the extends on the rear quarter panel so I am thinking you could do the same thing they did with the Cuda paint. Even the hockey stick stripe could be very similiar. My paint guy brought this car to my attention. He really liked the airbrush on the hockey stripes. That would make the car very unique. Maybe something with a horse airbrushed in. I don't know, I just don't have the vision for things like that. I guess that is where you just let the painter do something and trust their judgement.

Yea, in real life it is like a combination of burnt orange and red. Makes a very bold statement.

I think it'd look good. The only example I have of a 2-tone Mustang is the one below but I don't really like the color choice on it.

I agree FlatTire. That is a beautiful green, but the black hood just looks like an aftermarket hood waiting to get painted green. The square design on these old cars doesn't lend itself to a clear division point for a two tone paint scheme. Usually, there is a chrome piece or some other interuption between the two colors. I remember a 1955 Dodge we owned that was Red and White. Man, that was a pretty car, but there was a chrome strip separating the two colors. I don't think the classic Mustang bodies are conducive to having a two tone color effect. My 2c.
