Default new engine

so im going to be pulling out my 302 soon and getting a new engine. i was just going to geta boss 302block and build it little by little, but instead im just gona take one big step and buy the entire engine. but i have a bit of a dilema. i wanted to get a 460 big block but its my daily driver so i decided im not going to go too nuts. i was thinkin of buying a reman 331 stroker for about 5.3g. this is my first new engine, so i just want to know if you guys have any comments or suggestions before i drop a few grand. any input would help guys, thanks.

do not get a reman engine, they are good temporary engines but nothing you want to put all your faith into

theres nothing wrong with a reman motor - its all in who you buy from and what they do during the rebuilding process. stay away from motors from the local auto parts stores, but if there are any decent machine shops around you then you should be able to get a quality motor for a fair price. even the higher end companies use old blocks and such, so that sorta thing doesnt matter

I would have to agree with 77 the local parts store's motors however arent terrible just not real long time fix.I got one from Kragen(302) It was pretty cheap and runs fine it was just to get me going again til i figure out what i should build.

This is the place I work at why pay over 5k for a 331 when a 347 with more power cost about 1k less with a warranty even if you race it. I do all the machine work and know these are quality engines. Heres the website.http://tandlengines.com/
