Default battery not holding a charge

ok so my car was having some battery issues a few months back. the battery was goin out way to fast, so i bought a new one. same thing, it turned out my alternator wasnt charging it so i replaced the alternator and got another battery. after that it ran great but this weekend on way home at 4am, it died, andchp saw me stuck in the road and they didnt even help me, just paseed me by[&o]. but anyway, what do you guys think it could be? the alternator is new, new battery, new battery terminals, new cylinoid, new coil, new points, new condensor, new spark pulgs and wires. the only thing i didnt change was the voltage regulator, could that be it?unless thealternator i got isnt good.

I would say that the voltage regulator is the next logical step. It could be the alternator, but usually even when an internally regulated alternator fails it is usually the regulator inside of it that goes south.

I would recomend that in the future when you change the alternator, the regulator should bereplaced as well. When one or the other goes bad, the "bad" part has a way of destroying the "good" part.

You might consider taking the alternator off and having it checked at a parts store.

just bring it in and get it checked,, its free.. Just make sure that everything is hooked up right too and that the hot wire between the alternator and the battery is in good shape. On my 69 insidethe quick connect harness was corroded and not makeing contact, so i just ran some 8 guage power wire to it.. So then I replaced the alternator but hooked up the ground wire to the stator post (which was black) not the ground.. BE SURE THAT ITS HOOKED UP CORRECTLY.. and that all of your wires from the battery to alt and alt to ground are in good shape..

you need to have it measured out. If you have a multimeter you probably did that already.
If you have none, get it checked out.
Ps: when the car dies due to dead batterywhile driving, its as simple as: aletrnatior/regulatordoesn't charge.
A car should runonce started even without battery ...
make sure you have no loose contact or something. make sure thealternator is grounded.
