I just bought a 302 for my 67 coupelast week and how can i find out what year modelthe 302is?

On the drivers side of the block I think it is, near where the bellhousing bolts to it, just below the cylinder head should be a group of numbers, you're looking for a letter/number combo, like C6 or C7, for Ford the letters are C=60's D=70's E=80's F=90's etc. And the number is the particular year in that decade. Like C6=1966, D1=1971, mine is an F1 for example, '91. There will also be some other letters after it that will tell you what it was originally cast for. Like mine is F1SE which is a block intended for a 1991 Thunderbird Coupe. But from what I understand, the chassis designation may not be accurate since Ford used blocks where they needed them

Its a D8VE so its a 1978 block out of a van? lol or whats it out of

Who knows, try finding a decoder to use somewhere maybe? All that really matters is that it's a 78

I think the 'V' is a Lincoln Mercury code, possibly a Versailles that was in production from 77 to 82(?).
