Default 1966 Pro Touring Convertible

Just started the '66 Vert project. The frame has taken some time to get tied together properely. Cut the bottom out of the front and rear frame rails and shot a laser between them and cut out the seat bases and the rear floorpans to accept the new frame rail. This allowed the frame to be completely welded to the existing frame and all of the floor sheet metal as well.
Axles, shocks, bearings, and heim joints arrived Friday. Hope to have the rearend mounted before the weekend. Need to get the car back on the ground and get the front suspension mocked up next.

Thanks for all the help this site offers.
Been lurking and watching for years and nowI hope to be more active.

Or you can run a rail from the left frame rail to the right frame rail up front and out back.

Hey Soaring and Andrew,

There will be a lot more to the frame front and rear. Thinking about adding a Paxton and alcohol/water injection so I want the car strong enough for adds later. Do not like to re-do things, always more trouble and more money than doing it right the first time. I will post as soon as I get morebars in the car.

Thanks,
Brent

dont sound bad make sure you make some bracing going from the front of the front frame rail to the firewall reason being when you change to something like a mustang 2 kit you put more stress on the frame rails not the firewall the way the car was desgined

The axles arrived last week as did the custom control arm/shock brackets for the rearend housing. The CM lower control arms and heim ends are finished. The torque arm is finished and everything is tacked in place. Hope to have the front torque arm mount and the watts link done before the weekend.
While I was waiting on the axles I decided to shave the dash (bored I guess)

Have fun,
Brent
