Default Rust proofing as you go?????

I have completely exposed the frame on the '66 Vert. The rear trunk pans have been removed and the front floor pans and mid pans are are out. Do you treat the inside of the frame rails before you reinstall the sheetmetal? Is it something that will still treat the metal after welding on it? And what do you use?

Thank you for the help,
Brent

I agreewith them ,but if you can get access to a body shutz gun (it has a long tube and you stick itinside frame rails, rockers etc). and spray a waxy coating on the inside of everything. If you know someone that works in a body shop you might be able to borrow it for this.

if you do that, then make sure you don't overfill. Happened a lot to german car manufacturers that the stuff was coming back out when hot outside ruining the look of tyhe car and paint. (doors, latches, hoods .....) .... Volkswagen Golf especially had those problems

You want to weld, then treat. POR 15 or any other rust inhibitor will go away into the air with the heat of the weld.

Check out www.eastwood.com for tools, specialty paint and rust type items. They have an undercoatting system that works fine.
