son has a '68 w/2V 289 and we're trying to tune it up.
Can anyone tell me the Dwell on the distributor?
Also, any thoughts on solid state conversion of distributor?

 

Dwell angle is 26-31
Firing order is 15426378
Timing is 6 degrees BTDC
spark plug gap is .034
Spark plugs are BF-42

You can upgrade the ignition with a Pertronix and it's flame thrower coil.
Those can be purchased at almost any Mustang supply place. You can also research the MSD ignition system.
