Default How many pink '67s?

All,

I'm trying to buy a fairly nasty '67 coupe, but it's still in it's original pink, so I'm willing to restore it (bought by owner who knows nothing about cars, has sat covered outside for twenty years, luckily on gravel).

How many pink ones were made? Am I correct that Ford called this "Playboy Pink"?

Thanks,

David

I couldn't find anything on the net about how many but they are talking about remaking the Playboy Pink in 08. New playmate pics in new mustangs, I like it!

Buy, the car. Maybe the playmate comes with it, and if she does then see if you can trade her in '07 model.

I intend to buy the car, but the owner still thinks she's going to get it restored, and is wishy-washy. "Luckily" for me she's an alcoholic, and my father in law sees her almost daily, and is going to wave some cash at her.

the car isn't in good shape though, and the only saving grace is that BC only started using salt on the roads after it was parked. It'll need a full resto, but I'll save as much as the original pink as possible as proof (I won't repaint anything inside unless I need to replace floors, etc.). Being parked in the rain under a tarp for decades can't have done it any favours, but it doesn't lookmoldy inside so maybe it sealed itself up in the summer. Doors are locked.

When I was younger I might not have liked the pink, but I sure do now! Forty has its perks. Also, I'vedone running-restorations onthree cars, andafterthe first have always kept the original colour, whether I like it or not. The first one I changed from original brown to white, but I wished afterwards I'd have kept the original brown, as that's how it was born.
Playboy Pink doesn't have a Ford colour number, so will the data plate have a "-" or nothing where the colour number should be?

thanks,

David

The playboy pinks were a car on general sale for during one or more promotional effort from what I have been told so how many were produced I am not sure, but it is a rare car but I guess more that 12 were made the playmate of a year got a car and in 67 it was a plymouth barracuda, the only stangs were in 64 and 69 was a Shelby GT-500 mind you 73 must have been pissed off she got a volvo sports wagon not sure if it was the p1800 but the year before was a pantera!!! [sm=funnypostabove.gif]she'd be 60+ years old and probably in as poor shape as the car

Exactly, so you trade her in for the newer model.
