so i finish the power steering setup on my car (67 coupe) and i started the car and the power steering pump is scream like crazy WTF.............pls dont tell me the pump is bad ... because i bought this setup off of ebay and so far i had to replace every part on it except the pump i an it looks like i might have to (damn you ebay )....LMAO

 

Was it only screaming when you turned the wheel? Or just screaming when you started the car?

If it's not the pump, might be a pulley or belt too loose or something....you have fluid in it right?

 

it was screaming alittle and alot when i truned the wheel and yes there is fluid in the pump and i prime the system ..........[&o]

 

sounds like thebearings in the pump are bad, if it was 're-built' then they didnt put it back together correctly. from what you are say it sound like you have the same problem i had, just bite the bullet and have a trusted shop do th e re-build for you should be under 100 bucks or so...well thats what i paid and havent had single problem with it.

 

Something is too tight inside the pump probably. Yeah, bite the bullet.

 

This may be a stupid question, but did you bleed the system?

 

mine will scream if i turn it lock to lock parked but yeah sounds the pump is bad or rebuilt wrong
