Default Fan Blades

My fan on my '68 is a five blade fan, but one of the blades doesn't look right. I'm thinking that for balance sake, they should all be evenly spaced all the way around, but one of them looks out of place. I'm not sure how to explain it any better. It doesn't look bent as far as I can tell. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I would think this would cause the fan to out of balance. I wish I had a picture, but it would be impossible to take a useable pic with it in the car.

They all come like that - even on many of my other cars/trucks, they were like that

No idea why, but I know it helps when you're trying to get to things down there

Not sure about the mustang but my F150 has it that way to get the wrenches in to remove the fan from the fan clutch. I would assume it is the same for your car. Does the 68 have a fan clutch?

That's the standard Ford design for a five bladed fan, off set. As long as it works.

Interesting. It just kind of seemed strange to me. I suppose there's a reason for it, though. No, there is no clutch fan.

Mine's the same way. So, don't worry about it.

I think it's done that way for reasons of reducing noise, or at least to spread it out over more than one frequency.

If you look closely, tire tread patterns are apt to be spaced not quite evenly, for much the same reason.
