You know you are bored when.....
You experiment with trying to put 1998 Toyota Avalon wheels on a 65 classic.
I owned a new 98 Avalon when I was stationed in Germany, and the Autobahn was salted every winter. Well, it made the wheels on the car look like crap, so I bought some new wheels for it and stored these. I had absolutely nothing to do this morning, so I decided to do some measuring and try to get them to fit Ol' Yeller. Well, the bolt pattern is the same but the back spacing is wrong. I wouldn't actually put them on the car, but just wondering how I could use these wheels and tires. They are 205/65/15 and are free to anybody who wants to come get them. They are just taking up space in my shop. The tires are almost new Cooper Cobras.

FWD and RWD offsets are completely different. FWD the hub mounting surface is closer to the outside of the wheel. And RWD is closer to the inside. Numerically FWD would have an offset of something like +38mm through +48mm where as RWD would have an offset of 0 to 15mm, and some RWD offsets even go negative. -P.
PS:25mm or 2.5cm = 1inch

Intelligent conversation in the OT section?
Yeah right. I hate to throw these wheels and tires away, but they don't fit either Ol' Yeller or Big Red. Maybe my wife will actually get industrious some day and have a yard sale and I can get a few coin for them.

will the actual tires fit anything else you own? they'd make a good wheel for having drag tires if someone wanted to have the spare set for the track. who cares what the spacing is if they roll down the track right?
