This is a long shot......
but thoughtI would ask anyway. The '65 convertible i'm working on has a used door with an incorrect data tag.I thoughtI would check and see what the chances are one of you guys having bought the car with another door and no tag. long story short, I'm going to post the VIN and if it happens to match your car you can PM me. 5FO7D166473.
The reason you have that door is that the original door on your car was damaged beyond repair and a replacement door came off a car the was also beyond repair. The thought was nice, the real world is not so nice.

Consider the lack of a door data plate on a 64 to 66 Mustang an opportunity. There are 'fixed' items on the tag - VIN number, build date, semi-fixed items - rear axle, and those 'open' to judgement, body style, paint color, interior, DSO, transmission. Now to the nitty-gritty - the build date can be determined with-in one or two days by the VIN; the rear axle by the engine type or 'adjusted' by available options; the body style 'changed' to the Decor Group; paint color, determined by looking under the door sill for the original or select from the standard for that year; interior, again 'corrected' to the body style and color; DSO to any appropiate to that year, even the closest to you; transmission, get rid of that 3 speed manual and make it a 4 speed. It's 'an offer you could not afford to refuse'.
