Here's an aspect you may not consider. To drive a classic on a regular basisrequires maintenance, especiallysafety issues, brakes, belts, etc. You probably have a good understanding by the posts. In today's world, the idiot in the other car doesn't give an R/A about your classic. Additionally, the insurance co isn't gonna give you the cost of repairing it if it gets wrecked, they'd prefer tototal it. The real question: Is it worth driving every day? If you truly value the car, drive it on weekends and enjoy it, and go buy a piece of junk you can thrash withyour new found independance. Good luck, drive safe.

You can get run over on the weekend just as easily as you can during the week. I drive mine every day out here in my little country town, but might hesitate to drive it in a large city. Yes, maintenance is very crucial to keep these old cars in top running condition. I do some kind of maintenance to mine almost every day. These cars were meant to be driven, and not sitting in some dusty garage.

I hate you so much.Isn't it running 325 hp with the CAI and the X-pipe? My brother was looking at one of those until he saw the $50,000 price tag (that's what they mark them up to around here), now he's getting an F-150 and supercharging it, go figure. Sorry to take over the thread.

Haha no problem, I'd kill for one of those Shelby's. But anywho, I live on a highway 15 miles away from my school. 8 miles of the highway to my house is not very busy, a stop for a redlight here and there, but around my school it can get pretty busy, but just for like 5 miles, so I don't think it'll matter much. I live in northeast Alabama, not much big city there. Butttttt, the part that is pretty busy is also a dangerous street for a car. My '05 is in the body shop right now because someone rearended me last week on that very street. Like someone said up there though, I'll have to learn to become a defensive driver, especially on that street. And even though to my knowledge the disc brakes are quite expensive, I think we'll put em in. I still have 2 years left of highschool, but hopefully soon we'll be moved closer to the school where I won't be in the heavy traffic so much.
