hey lads
i looked at this coupe today and its in pretty good shape, i would buy it if it didnt have a black vinyl roof. it is in great condition and all it really need is a some rewiring for inside electrics and new paint job. lads i need your expert opinion as i am a newbie to this, i have a straight 6 coupe but i would prefer having this, i think thisis the link http://cgi.ebay.ie/Ford-Mustang-GT_W...QQcmdZViewItem.

how do u remove the roof. is it a big job to replace it witha steel roof

 

From the pictures, it looks like a damn nice car, especially forabout $8,000.

Looks like there is some red paint on the driver door jamb area. I think that this one is worthy of a closer inspection!!

You don't take the roof off. You just peel the vinyl off of the present roof, prep it for paint and paint it. Unless the roof has rust holes as big as your fist, you can prep it fairly easily. Personally, I think 65-66 coupes with stripes just look stupid. Looks like a real clean one.

 

You just peal the vinyl off and paint it.. It is a steel roof under the vinyl. .... WOW... I really dont know what to say about that...

 

there are a few rust bubbles on the paint is it a big job to solve this, is it just a job of sanding them down treating it and respraying. is there anything i need to look out for the next time i look at this car.

 

If the paint has bubbled because of rust, you can bet that the rust spot is twice the size of the bubble. You can patch it if you have welding skills.

 

the welding skills would not be the best i would be afraid of makin it worse, haha knowing my look i would destroy it.
