Default 302 serpentine conversion

I hope this has not been brought up in the past, but I have ordered new serpentine pulleys and balancer. Considering I only have the crankshaft, waterpump, and alternator, does anyone think I will have an issue with the direction of the waterpump. With only these pulleys I feel it shoudlnt bea problem. Whats everyones thoughts on this?

i think you might have to get a powersteering bypass pulley or AC bypass pulley that way it will spin the correct direction or buy a water pump that spins the other way

What kind of setup will you be running? I'm using March pulleys for a 5.0L on a Ford Racing crate motor with Fox body accessories, hence I have a reverse rotation water pump. I'm using the Fox body power steering pump with the early model steering gear and an adaptor fitting on the hose. Everything works great. I probably wouldn't build it this way from scratch, but my build started as a 351W swap into an '85 GT convertible which then found its way into my '65 fastback. I then swapped the 351W out for a Ford Racing crate motor and retained the serpentine.

If you're running a older motor that has a standard counterclockwise rotating water pump, then you can run a serp belt over the Crank-WP-Alt..... just make sure you ordered a ribbed WP pulley. The slick WP pulleys are made for the reverse rotation (clockwise) WP.

If you're running a later model motor/WP, then you'll need an AC eliminator bracket and a belt tensioner.

The motror is a 78 302, but I am building it as a 68. So I have a standara 60'2 water pump and I have purchased march pulleys(CS, WP, and Alt) with a new 4 bolt balancer. I keep thinking that since I dont have PS or AC that it should be fine. Even though its serpentine it really wont wind through many pulleys. It almost makes a full circle. I just want to make sure I am thinking through this completely. Thanks guys
