Gone in 60 seconds
I like the original better. Something about the fact that H.B. Halicki beat the crap out of that car, broke his back doing one of the jumps, and when the movie's almost over, swaps it in a car wash...Great flick, and perhaps one of the best car chases EVER recorded (better than Bullitt's Charger/Mustang chase).
-Suspect travelling southbound at 90 miles an hour.
- Stay with him, Air One!
- I'm all over him!
- Suspect has increased speed to 120.
- Maintain visual, Air One.
- 140 miles an hour!
- Do not lose him!
-This is an A-Star, sir, not an Apache.
- 150! 160! He's gone.God!Man, this guy can drive!

the 74 one i believe still has the longest car chase the junkman had the most things wrecked and blown up.is it me or theres more early mustangs in music videos now. fergie's big girls dont cry video has a 70 fastback kelly clarkson never again video has a 67/68 restomod. jack ingram's mesure of a man video has a nice yellow 70 mach1. most of them are best watched muted tho.
Last of the Mustangs. Last of the V8s. Eleanor.
The original car chase was 40 min long. There is one part in it that the car is almost out of gas and a few seconds later it is almost full. Fun movie. I found a copy on vhs in a bargain bin in 1994. I had never heard of it before, but it had a 73 jumping through a billboard on the cover so I had to get it. I got the dvd special edition that they released after the new one came out. I wonder when they will remake Smokey and the Bandit? Two lane blacktop, C.B.s and a truck load of Coors. I don't think it could happen now, it would have to be in the 70s.
