Roller Rocker Arm Question
I've built a 302 roller in my garage and going to install it next week... I put on a set of aluminum roller rocker arms and did the whole set up, valve closed, tighen til rod is tight, then half turn and lock... That was a week ago, yesterday i was checkin them out and noticed some of the push rods were loose enough i could turn them by hand.
Do i need to retighten them? Is that just because the Hyd Lifters i'm using have lost the oil inside so they are no longer pumped up? Just leave them and the oil will pump them back up? when i pulled my 289 the other day i noticed that those rods i could easily turn with my hands, is that normal? Don't think the valve covers have been off the 289 in many many years. So should i retighten or just leave them???

leave em. if its new stuff they havent been pumped up with oil yet.
if you start it and it doesnt quiet down after a couple minutes then look into readjusting - but i think you'll be ok cause it sounds like you did it correctly.

Yeah, the lifters prolly just bled down. It might tick a bit when you start it up, but should go away after a few moments. Like my77stang said, if it doesn't quiet down after a bit, then readjust
