'68 with PS and long tube headers
ok i see what you are saying, but i cant tell from the pic what;s on the end nearest the header
I had a similar problem on a right hand drive car where I couldnt get header clearance around the clutch slave cylinder. I ended up getting the specific header pipe modified. PITA. hope you find a solution.

have you tried to route the hose on the other side of the steering shaft?

for a second i was thinking about going behind the wheel and came out under the car but again, hose have to be able to move so that idea is not to good either
Duct tape, I forgot - duct tape.
Lucasz - You have a custom exhaust system. It causes an interference with the standard power steering hoses. Therefore, you need custom power steering hoses. This is not unususal, so look for a local shop that specializes in hydraulics, aka a repair shop for fork lifts, etc, and have a custom pressurized longer hose made. You are in a Navy town, there are those type offacilities.

I've heard of people using hoses for later model big block cars. What engine do you have? Another option is to get a hydraulic hose shop to custom fab some hoses using the end pieces from your current pressure hose. You could route it just about any way you want.
