Default 68' Coupe

A couple years back my dad bought a really beat up 68 coupe that was covered in bondo. He put a bunch of money into it and built the engine. Heres what I was wondering, he loves the car but he hates the handling and he is trying to figure out what would be the best thing to do. Ive heard of transmission swaps from the mustang II but I was wondering what would be the best way to improve the handling.

Buy a spring and handling kit or new suspension which specifically deals with handling and perfomance. Theres things like that out there.

Up front get a Grab-A-Trak suspension kit, and out back replace the leaf springs. Put KYB shocks on all 4 corners. If the steering is loose, replace the steering box or put on a Rack and Pinion system.

Thanks for all your help, I will look into those. I have also looked into putting a 5-speed tranny into it. Ive poked around the web, and it looks like it isn't that hard. Could someone help me and spread some knowledge?

From the FAQ section:
T-5 conversion for early Mustangs:

C4 to T-5 Tremec 3550 conversion:

HTH

I have a T5 w/3.55 rear gears and it suits my needs perfectly, sprited acceleration when "needed" and good cruising manners on the freeway
