Default t5 question

i found a t5 transmission - the source is listed as aftermarket.
the tag number is 1352-251-06427.
would this be a good t5 to purchase? i intend to rebuild it.

It should be an 87-93 Mustang 5.0 "World Class" T5. The most popular T5 for swapping short of a very rare "Cobra" transmission. So it should be an ideal candidate.
However. What sort of rebuild do you have in mind? A T5 with shaft damage (VERY common) costs almost as much to rebuild as a new transmission. To within a couple hundred dollars. It's possible it couple just needsome bearings and such and not be a big deal. More than a few T5's have been dumped at the transmission shop after the owner discovers it will cost $1200to rebuild a T5 he can buy brand new for $1100.
Good deals can be had butkeep in mind that it may very well end up a pile of junk. Best of luck to you!

Looks like it would be a good one to put behind a 302.

Note at the bottom of the table said - Cobra tapered roller pocket bearing

Im in the same boat and decided not to take any chances....to me it is worth just buying a new tranny. I am still looking for the best price...maybe the other guys feedback will tell us both where to get the best tranny for the best price.

I work on cars for a living... the last thing i want is to have to do it agian!
