If you have four lug wheels, you got an I6 rear axle. Take a look at the ends of your axle where the rear springs attach to the tube. You will see a tapering of the tube about seven inches long before the backing plate flange. This taperapplies to all 64 to 66 Mustangs. The available axle are a 7.5 inch (yours), 8 inch (for V8 cars) and 9 inch (the Hi-Po version). The 8 and 9 inch are all five lug. That's what you look for - the taper and five lug studs for wheels. Don't worry about whether it's an 8 or 9 inch, either for your application are fine.If by the sheerest luck you find a 9 inch, that's a plus. There were about 20,000 total made.
