Napa usually carries them ,if not I'm pretty sure Npd does. One trickI learned with mine is to add a piece of pipe about 5 inches long to the side that has the bolt so that the head of the bolt will stick up through the upper shock mount. That way you dont have to be down there under the fender with the spring compressed.Be careful with those springs,a compressed spring letting loose can maim or kill you.
hope this helps

I have a very safe way to compress springs with an engine hoist and a legnth of 5/16" chain..... but....

Anyway, we were able to rent one from NAPA that fit inside, it scared the s*** out of me and I did not use it....

Here are two pictures of my home made one, the proto-type in fact. It is modeled after one supplied by Snap-On Tools. This one compresses the spring in the car. The ones that do it outside the car - suck. Use the serch feature on this forum for the particulars.

Depending on whether you are going to need them again, some parts stores will loan them for free. Autozone and Discount auto parts now have a loan a tool program. I bought the spring compressor for $50 and I had the choice to keep it or return it when I was done for a full refund. Check into it for many other tools as well.

Aurthur,
I like it. What holds the two rods to the spring saddle?

Got mine off of ebay for 23 bucks. Look it up, felt very safe using it...
