Default Newbie w/pics

Hello everyone, I've been reading here for a few weeks now but this is my first post. Seems like a great board with lots of knowledgable people and I'm looking forward to contributing in any way I can. I've owned a few mustangs in my past, a 98 GT, and most recently a 2003 SVT Cobra. I just recently sold the Cobra and found what I've really desired sitting in my uncle's barn. While the 03 was definetely a great car and fun to mod what I've always wanted was old school muscle, the loping cam sound (something you just can't replicate on a mod motor) and the classic styling.

Here is what I just picked up from my uncle, it's in Michigan right now but should be shipped down to me in the next month or so. I don't have the VIN yet, but what I know about it is this: 1968 Fastback, 302, 4 barrel carb with a C4 tranny. Rear end has been rebuilt with a gear in it (not sure of the ratio yet), all new front suspension, stock drum brakes all around. The car was a steal at $6200 considering the shape she is in. First thing on the plan sheet is to completely replace the drum brakes with disc brakes. Here are a few pics, looking forward to reading your comments. As you can see, the car is squeezed in the barn and my dad was unable to get pics of the front or of the engine, not really good pics of the interior either as he couldn't open the doors. You can see the car is in great shape though for being almost 40 years old with no major restoration.

I think the tractor is a McCormic Farmall Cub, made in the 60s and 70s, I am not all together sure about that only about 90%, could be a much eariler model A Farmall or somthing...... but nah,,, it's a Cub....

Welcome Greg... looks like you're jumping in with a great place to start! Love that body style...and there's nothing you can't do to them. Go original, go mod... we'll help where ever we can.

Thanks, that's the first thing that came to my mind as well. Actually there is nothing wrong with it at all, a few little cosmetic blemishes but mostly it's in fantastic shape. Engine is strong, tranny shifts smooth, newly rebuilt rear. Seats and interior are aged but no cracks/rips/tears just a little faded. Carpet is good, but dirty. The only real problem if you want to call it that is one door skin may need to be replaced due to a small puncture in it.

Not sure about the tractor, but on the other side of my 68 is a 65 coupe that is all original in better shape than the 68. He offered me a package deal to get both of them but I couldn't come up with the cash (besides my wife would kill me....).

Shoulda took out a loan... you could flip the coupe and have enough left to fund your fastback upgrades.
