Default what is my 69 fastback???

Ok here's the deal, i have a 69 fastback with some very strange options that i would really like to find out exactly what i have before i start any restoration. I tried to run a marti report on this car and they said that it was NOT in the marti report system. When we decoded th plates we found that it has the mach1 trim package, GT suspension, a 351w, factory air, factory roll bar, 4 speed trans and disc brake up front. I can't find any other cars with similar options, especially the roll bar, except for the drag pack. But the car is coded wrong for a drag pack. if anyone can tell me anything about it or where to find out about it i would really appreciate it. is there any division of ford that i can contact to find out some info. I have talked to the most mustang knowledgable people i can find and all they can think of is that it was a test car. I don't know, but i want to find out before i start any restoration, or sell it.

thanks dj

well i know the mach 1 came with the trim package, a 351w as its base engine, and standard front disk brakes. So to me it sounds like you have a track version of the mach 1, being you have upgrades suspension and a factory roll bar.

could somebody have modified the car and put on OEM parts? it would not have been hard in 1969 to have a factory rollbar and suspension work done at the dealership

it' possible but what is really confusing me is that the car does not show up in the marti database as having ever existed

that is pretty odd, maybe you have something rare, or maybe you have something that has been tampered with and is possibly stolen, its hard to tell with old cars, the car could have been stolen in 1970 and sold eight times since then, you never know, do the VIN numbers match?

I would suggest you verify the VIN on your registration paperworkwith the VIN number displayed on the left front window and then give Kevin Marti a call. If you have a 'phantom' car, Kevin would probably want to know about it. I've delt with him before in other areas and he's an ok guy.
