inner door skins
is there a place to find inner door skins? I would kind of like to have the textured look insidemy doors. It may be easier to just smooth them out. I have holes cut out for speakers and want to get rid of them. Notice the hole cut out of the door with a cutting torch. dont know what the PO was doing. Probly couldn't figure out how to get the window crank or latch parts out.

You have two options, and they are almost the same - donor car for a good inside panel to replace part or all of the existing one or donor car for the whole door.
There is a third, figure out a way to cover the whole lower part as in the louvers on a 67 with the delux interior.

my advice is to weld in the new metal patch smooth it with filler then take some thing with grain like a piece of vinyl and paint the door and press it in to the tacky not wet paint and it will take the print of the vinyl
I like the thought about the louvers by 66GTKFB. I have been searching the web trying to find something I like. So far no luck. I just left an E-mail with a trucking outfit to see what they have. With the louvers I might be able to put speakers in the doors and not be able to see them. Any suggestions where I can find a louver that is 4in by 3 ft long. If I cant find anything I will just weld in a patch panel and smooth out the interior.
OT. anyone know if the candy colors are a base coat clear coat or can you get them in a single stage. Haven't played with candy yet and am thinking of using it on my 65.

a true kandy is a tricoat meaning theres a base then a tinted coat then clear my vert is a kandy it takes a long time and a steady hand to paint one my car took a total of 7 hrs to spray including sealer, base, mid and topcoat withthe flash time in between heres the 67 door grills http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ite...atKey=EMUSTANG
Well my intentions are to paint the car black, real flame and then I was wanting to put candy purple over the car. I just wanted to avoid the clear. I put clear over my explorer because I flamed it. I just couldnt get any shine out of the truck. I wet sanded it with 1200 rubbing compound then waxed. I will take it to a detail shop when painted and let them make it shine.

im assuming you buffed it with the rubbing compound?? what about finishing glaze after the rubbing compound? buffing a car takes hours after you wet sand it also did you have enough clear? gotta have enough coverage to wetsand and buff on other wise you can easily sand into the base
Forgot to mention the grill. I like the kit rmodel 65 posted I would like something that is welded in place. Or has a more custom look. I also dont want to pay that much. Why do parts have to cost that much.
