sandblast cost?
I have a 68 coupe and I'm getting the body done. I priced a complete stripping of the paint, rust, and anything else on the body at $800 using a "sandblasting" method. Not sure on just the engine compartment. I only found one shop in my area (CT) that did this type of work. I did a google search for "dry stripping" in my state.
Hope this helps....good luck.

oboviously, you will have to pull the engine to have the work done. At any rate, you can do it yourself if you can pull the engine and use a media blaster, or a second option of wire brushing and scraping.
if u have a sand pad and something that can get it going nicely, u can do it for about the cost of about 30 sand pads and a day or 2 of time. well worth it because you will pay a pretty penny probably for the sand blast option.
If you do any sand blasting on your own do it outside. After I got my new compressor I wanted to try out a friends sand blaster and for some reason i did it inside (newb is the best reason I can think of, or giddy with excitement of my new compressor). It's been about 4 days and I still am sweeping/blowing/vacuming sand at night.
