I my floors are wet on both sides. I am going to check out the cowl tonight.
Any recommendations on repair shops in Indianapolis if that is the problem? Probably not a weekend wrench turner job eh.

Never been to Indiana, but if it indeed is the cowl that has rusted out look for a Mustang or at least a classic car repair shop to replace the cowl, or hey, do it yourself. It is very expensive to have someone else do it, but on the other hand it is very time consuming and frustrating to do it yourself. There are over a hundred spot welds you have to drill out one at a time usng a special drill bit, so that will take you several weekends just to get that sucker out. Then you have to have a welder and trained in how to spot weld.
Your choice, but that is the correct way to repair it. Getting a cover is an easy way, but you can't run the heater or get fresh air. Never driving in the rain is another easy out. But, who knows when a storm suddenly appears when you are out on the road. Or, the last thing you could do is get a magnet cowl cover, and keep it in the trunk, then when the rain starts, quickly grab that magnet cover and slap it on the cowl.

Just did the water test. Only had some water drip through the heat vent on the left side. Nothing appears to come through the right. I pulled up the carpet on the right and there was a clear silicon hose that came through a hole in the front of the floor board, looks like it is just above the trans. the hose wasn't connected to anything. I bought a body plug kit the other day but don't have a diagram yet of where all the plugs go. Is there one online? did a quick google with no luck. Should that hose be there?
thanks
