Default Seats aren't the right year?

Well I got scored some high-back bucket seats from the junkyard on Saturday, and the car I pulled them from (I think) was a 71 coupe, possibly Grande. After looking for an upholstery kit, though, I am beginning to doubt that. The seats are dark blue/light blue. The center inserts are cloth, (the light blue part) and the "edges" are vinyl, and dark blue. All of the mustang places I see (Mustangs Unlimited, Year One, NPD, Dallas Mustang, etc.) have all vinyl upholstery. So does that mean this seat is not actually original? I will get some pics on later tonight, but hopefully that will help.

Oh, and if it helps, it has a little "handle" on the back of the seat which you pull up on to push the seat forward.

Sounds like it could be a seat from a Fox Body but I'm really not sure. Got any pics?

Oh, didn't think about the fox body. That could definitely be a possibility. I have some, but they're at home. I will get them up tonight.

So are those ones you have out of a 71, or did you put them in?

Trying to figure out if they are stock

That little handle pre-dates the Fox-body by several years. My 1972 Pinto had the same kind of seatback release.

Well, I'd be willing to bet they are 71s then. But it doesn't make sense - why would they come stock from the factory with cloth, yet all of the mustang parts dealers only offer them in the so called 'stock' vinyl?
