Default 289 pistons

how do I tell if these are stock pistons? I measured 4.032 just below the rings. I know they are supposed to have a taper but wheer are you supposed to measure from? Top or bottom. I also enclosed pics. Dont know what stock ones are supposed to look like either.

They sound like 30 overs. They look like my 30-over flat-tops. Clean-off the tops and see if you can find an .030 stamp anywhere.

I couldn't get a pic of the emblem on the top. too much glare. I drew it out. There is an 8 and 612 written on the top. I also added another pic of the skirt that I didn't post earlier.

Here are the pistons that are in out of my 289 2V motor. I believe them to be the stock pistons. The diameter measured just below the oil ring is 3.9765.

I am still looking for two (2) replacement pistons to replace the two that I have with cracked skirts. If anyone has some pistons that match these please let me know.

hey i may have two pistons for you, let me check tomorrow they are still on the rods.

to answer the original question, yes 4.032 would be .030 over flat tops.
