Default ++++need help++crooked 302!!!!++++

i just dropped my 302 in my 66 coupe. I had to buy the frame brackets and the motor mounts. I put all that together pretty tight, and it turns out that my engine is "facing" a little left. ( if you are looking at it from the front) Its not much maybehalf aninch off. But idont know if that will throw out the tranny and shaft. Or will it correct when i put a tranny. What can it be? Is it normal? What can i do to fix it? Or who could i contact?

I have the same problem with my 302 but i measured the rubber in the engine mount bracketsand detirmened one had a little more rubber than the other causing it to lift the engine a bit. Just something to think about.

I was thinking of that but its not really higher, its more that its pointing to the left. You can really see it whenyou look at it from the top and compare it to the sway bar or control bar. I wonder if once i put a tranny and mount it it would correct the 'twist". Any one know?

Some background, what was the previous engine? What type frame brackets did you get? What type mounts did you get? Was the car in any accidents?
Jim
I added the frame dimensions.

I had the in line six and i got the normal brackets with the black rubber mount. I should have gotten the poly now that i think about it. I just wonder if its gonna throw everything off. Will my tranny fix it?

Normal brackets from what?
Accidents?
Pull the engine and do some measuring, otherwise you may have a front wheel drive.

Two options:
- Loosenthe 4 bolts that attach the insulator to the engine and see if you can take out the 'twist' that way.
- Pull the engine and check the dimensions. I had a 66 Fastback that had the right side 1/2 inch too far back and the left side 3/4 inch too far back due to an unknown accident. It was stretched back to spec.

The insulator goes to the engine. There is a frame bracket and an intermediate bracket in stock installations. If you have an aftermarket type, I would contact the seller for assistance - and a little yelling too.
