Default Back on the Road

Ifinally got her back on the road. My two-weekend project that turned into a 2 1/2 month chore is finally finished. Well, almost. The A/C still isn't working, but everything else is finished.

Manual drum brakes are now power front disc
Manual steering is now power steering
While the motor was out for the steering upgrade, I added a mild cam, new valve springs and retainers, new timing gears and chain. Ireplaced gaskets and painted the motor. Tri-Y headers and dual exhaust were installed. I also cleaned up and painted the engine bay.

Soaring, I'll be talking with my wife about your get-together next month.

OK Don.....It's only a 3 hour drive from Houston. There may be a few others from Houston coming. Maybe you guys can hook up and follow each other. Did you get the entry form for the MOCA show and send that in? It's 20 bux for now, but will go up later.
Check it out up on top. With all the stuff you did to your car, I'm surprised it didn't take longer.

Let's just say my wife is happy this project is just about finished. She hasn't been very happy about all the time I've been spending in the garage.

Now that I have time to work on her pet project - demo and remodel the spare bathroom - life is good again. Imagine that.

I don't think the images originally showed up. I just found out the IMG tag works better if you change it to img (lower case).

Nice looking car! I love the engine bay and those wheels look great. Good job.

Thanks, dude.

The rims were out of necessity. I upgraded from drum to power front disc brakes. When I finished the conversion, I discovered my 14" Enkei rims no longer fit. Oh darn, looks like I'll have to go get my new rims and tires sooner than planned.

I'm not all that excited about the car's stance. I think its too squatty in the rear. New leaf springs may be my next project, although I'd like to find a way to lower the front a little. I wonder if the previous owner put the wrong springs in.
