Default fan question

well i going to change my stock ford flex fan. the problem is that its a 17 &1/2 inch and i can only find 17 inch and 18 &1/4 inch. now im pretty sure i can make a 18 & 1/4 inch work, just by moving the shroud down a little bit, i have less clearance at the bottom than the top. just wondered if its worth the effort. would the 17 inch 6 blade work good enough not to worry about it.

I've had zero problems with a 17" fan, both with a 351W and now a 302 using a four row radiator. I added a shroud with this engine but didn't have a problem without one either.

Yeah, my 17 flex works just wonderfully. Now, go out and mow the lawn or something to get your mind off this.
