High oil pressure ... troubleshooting tips?
Well, my pressure gauge indicated that my oil pressure was high ... when I stopped, I noticed that I had been leaking some oil ... any recommendation in terms of how to find why this happened?
My temp is good, the oil and oil filter were changed less than 350 miles ago
Thanks!

Verify that the pressure is high by substituting a mechanical guage in the place of the oil sender. You can use a (new) grease hose for a grease gun to hook the guage up.

The only thing that would cause high oil pressure would be a stuck or defective presure relief valve in the oil pump itself.

nope to the PCV.
nope to the PCV.
1. Guage, sender, or wiring is defective.
2. The oil is way too thick, this time of year it would have to be like 80 wt gear oil or somthing
3. The pressure relief valve in the pump is not working.
The first two possibilities can be eliminated without much work,,,,,
Agreed about the thick oil, but it really makes difference as to what"high" means. I've seen the needle get higher by going from 5w20 to 10-40 or single weight oil.
