Seafoam, huh? Never heard of it, but it is probably just like most carb cleaners. But, there is a reason for carb cleaners. Carbs get dirty, and the jets get clogged, and the engine runs like KaKa until the jets get unclogged. Hello! Welcome to the carbureted engine world.

Seafoam is amazing! I have used it on numerous vehicles that were idleing rough and it smoothed them right up!

When you put it through the carb, did you turn the car off and let it sit for a while, and then start it back up.I have done that on 3 cars and it has really cleaned them up. Hopefully I'll do it on the mustang soon!

Yeah, you pour it down the carb and the engine will want to die so you must do it in small gulps. You turn the car off, let it sit for five minutes, then start it up. Everytime you pour the stuff down, the engine bogs down and a plume of smoke appears behind the car and again when you restart the car.

Replace the sending unit for the cooling system. This is how they fail (they work by varying their restance in relation to temperature).

Alright, ordered a new sending unit. Today the engine started sputtering and attempting to stall when at intersections. It's fine once you give it a bit more gas, but just starting out it hesitates and then surges. Electrical problem still? It's done this two other specific occasions.

I found that my engine runs perfectly smooth when idle in neutral or park. Today it started knocking when I'd go to accelerate. I haven't touched the timing. I did try to set the mixture and didn't have much luck getting a reaction out of the carb so for now the needles are set at about 2 1/2 turns out. I noticed when in gear there was a grinding noise coming from what sounded like the tranny tunnel (while sitting inside the car). And to add to that, I checked the transmission fluid and it was all foamy and aerated. Did Jiffy Lube overfill my fluid? And if so, could that be affecting the transmission and therefore the engine when it's put in gear? I feel so helpless, I may give in and take it to a mechanic to have a tune up and run through.

EDIT: I do leak a little transmission fluid all the time, which could explain the foamy fluid.
