Default Yet, another Export Brace Question

(For those of you that have installed this) Do you braces mount flush to the flange on the firewall? Also, did any of you have an issue with the holes in the brace being to far toward the back of the car, bypassing the original holes? I'd post images of my issue but I can't seem to upload them properly.

What you're describing is not uncommon. As the car 'sags', the distance shortens and the brace won't line up. Some options:
- If you can get a big screwdriver in the hole through the brace and firewall, try to pull the hole into alignment and shove a bolt in the adjacent hole. Work you way around.
- Another option is to jack the car up and place jackstands under the front fame rails. Place them far enough back (and at equal side to side places) such that you front end of the car actually 'hangs'... letting the weight of the front end pull the brace forward and pulling the holes into alignment.

The brace mounts to the top of the firewall lip.

I put the car on jacks this morning. I'll give it a few days. The holes line up perfectly with the shock towers but then they won't line up with the cowl. I can get the holes on the cowl to line up with only the driver side tower, and not with the pass. tower. Anyhow, I'll give it a few. Oh, I should have mentioned that the engine is being built right now so I'm losing a lot of leverage weight. Do you think I should install the brace after the engine is in?
Again, thanks

Yeah... forget about it now and wait.
