Default 68 fastback 427 has new headers!

After I took my 68 fastback down off the rotissorie last year, I dropped my alloy 427 Tunnel Port down in it using a set of used FE headers I had in my parts stash. They fit the engine fine but wedged themselves in tight against the shock towers. I knew the engine would have to come back out and either modify the existing headers to fit or buy new ones. I was so bummed about it I quit working on the car. I'd do little jobs but I just couldn't make myself get into anything big on it with the knowledge that I had that job to do hanging over my head.
I finally took the plunge and ordered a new set of FPA Tri-Y powder coated headers, pulled the engine and reinstalled it with the new FPA's. They fit great! There is still one header bolt making contact with the tower on one side but after the problems I had with the other ones I'm very happy. I'm going to try to attach a few pics to this post but more can be seen at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2550084/1

Nice looking car! Was it difficult to get the new headers in? Looks like a really snug fit. Do you have any video or sound on that engine, would love to hear it.

Looks nice. Where did you order the headers, and what was the cost?

As with any FE in a mustang the headers are a tight fit but these fit better than any I've used before. The company that makes them is called FPA, do a search for fpa headers and you'll find thier site. They have different price ranges depending on application and coating. These were expensive, around $740.00 to my door but it was worth the investment to me to get a set that fit right.
Thanks everyone for all the favorable comments.
