To answer the original question, if you are talking about the rear diff, I'm pretty sure they were Ford brand gears.
For the ratio, refer to your door tag.

Gears in transmissions are different between standard and close ratio. I guess I need to fine a mind reader.
The 'A' code standard rear axle ratio is 3.00:1 for66.
The 'C' code standard rear axle ratio is 2.80: 1 for66.
The 'C' code standard rear axle ratio is 2.79:1 for 68.
The 'J' code standard rear axle ratio is 3.00:1 for 68.
The 'K' code standard rear axle ratio is 3.50:166.
The 'S' code standard rear axle ratio is 3.00:1 for 68 (390).
The 'T' code standard rear axle ratio is 3.20:1 for both 66 and 68.
There is no 2.73:1 ratio for either year.
