Default How do you change valve covers?

Am doing more and more DIY here as they tend to screw things up. They don't even use a torque wrench it is amazing. When I replace valve covers for the 65's 289 what are the torque wrench settings that I would need to know?

Three to five foot pounds of torque. In other words - not much.

You do not need to torque valve covers.
Snug them then run the motor to temp and then snug them again.
Rods, mains, intake, etc. need exact torque specs. not sheet metal parts.

Valve covers do have a torque spec, but snug is sufficient. Basically, you want it tight enough to makea seal and slightly compress the gasket, but not so tight the gasket wants to move out or is compressed completely. I generally use 1/4" drive stuff for valve covers.
