Default CjPonyParts

Im still looking for the best deal on an engine, Ive looked into junkyard blocks, buying a donor car (hate pullin a car apart though just for the engine), worked engines from speed shops, and I happened to come across stock remanufactured engines that cjponyparts sells, they have stock 289's for 2,299.99 already to go, of course i dont want a stock engine but is that a fair deal on a rebuilt 289? Im new to buying engines and just dont want to be taken for a ride here if you know what i mean. Or has anyone ever bought an engine from those guys ?

I buy from cjponyparts all the time. I have a 1968 mustang coupe with a 289. They are located in harrisburg, pa. There is a warranty that comes with the engine and they are very reliable and knowledgable. My friend has a 69 coupe and he bought a 351w from them. He stroked it out to 392 and it puts out about 425hp. I think its safe to say they sell a strong, reliable engine.

I just recently installed a reman from LQK - in Fl for a customer. Came with a 3yr 100k mile warranty. Motor alone was 3600. Came with everything but sheet metal.

We use a couple other vendors but none offer this warranty.

Cheers.

According to CJ's catalog looks like the remanufactured 289 you were looking at comes with a 3yr/75,000mile warranty. I'm not sure where they actually get it from, but being that it is remanufactured (i.e. wearable parts are automatically replaced. Testing is performed to manufacturer specifications and original production standards etc) i highly doubt it is something they do in-house. However with a warranty like that, i would bet its from a reputable company.

cj's has treated me very well, i just bought an ignition switch from them that was bad right out of the box, they are sending me a new one no questions asked, not even requesting the bad one back. i would have no problem ordering a motor from them...
