Windshield restoration
I saw a dude with a truck on the side of the road one time advertising he could fix rock damage to windshieds. I had my F150 with me and it had a pretty good rock chip in the passenger's side so I told him I would pay him his price if he fixed it, but if I wasn't satisfied he got paid nothing. He filled the hole up with a clear liquid something or or other and the damage went away. I paid him.
Good ol' J. C. Whitney has a 'bullet hole' repair kit for $17.99 (p/n MY135420). I used a similar one on a 'bullet hole' on my 66 hardtop years ago and it worked, kept moisture out of the hole and associated cracks until I replaced the windshield due to lots of scratches.

I have heard of some kind of polishing system that can remove even nail catching scratches but lost the info. It uses a roto polisher that has a constant water flow thru the center to keep it cool and an abrasive compound. I also would like to know if anyone finds anything out.
I've got a chip in my wife's minivan that will probably repair nicely as it is all on the exterior. Unfortunately, on the Mustang glass, the exterior is pretty smooth and the distortion is on the inside between the two halves. [

I'm going to check with a local glass company that I used before. When my wife's '98 GT windshield shattered, the mobile glass guy came and installed a new Carlite for about $250.
Thanks!
