Headliner costs
I asked a local mustang shop here in town how much it would be for them to put in the headliner. They quoted me $700 w/ parts, $500 w/o. I know the parts aren't $200, so I went ahead and bought them all. I then told this to a guy here in town (on another forum) and he suggested another place. Called him, and he said $195 for the install. Is this too much? It would require the front and rear glass to be removed, all headliner put in, glass replaced with gaskets. Thanks,
That seems to be low for a complete glass removal, headliner installation and the glass put back in. The cost for the new weaterstrip and sealer would be close to $80 and who's going to supply that? I had mine done by a former Ford assembly line worker a few years back and it was $100 without glass removal. Get a better idea of what you are getting in to. Also, consider getting new sound insulation for under the headliner.

Well I already have all of the materials (including the weatherstripping and the sealer). This guy works at an upholstery shop, but does side work too, which he'll be doing for me.
FWIW, August 2007 Mustang Monthly has a nice article on replacing Mustang glass (windshield and back light). From their immense experience it sounds like windshield leaks are common even when performed by experienced folks!
Wow, 200 for parts is pretty expensive considering there isn't much up there at all. I would be pleased with 195$, especially since the glass will be romoved so the headliner will be installed correctly. Are you going to use the original style headliner, or something custom?
Everything will be original.
As I keep thinking more about this, I am wondering...I don't know if I am going to take it to this guy. I mean, glass and a headliner should take about 4 hands, and this guy is going to be doing it on his own, and I'm not so sure about that. Maybe I will pay like $250 and have another shop do it (I think that is what they quoted me).

I had the windshield on my 99 E250 replaced about a month ago (major crack from a rock) and it was done by one not so very bigguy in about two hours. Two sets of hands might be better, but a pro can do it solo.
