Default 5800 '72 vert

I saw a '72 vert today for sale, 302, auto. it is in decent shape, could use a little body work to cure some dings, and the seats/door panels are shot and the wood steering wheel has a crack in it, also needs a new top, has a few splits in the material and the bumpers are slightly pitted... guy wants 5800, which is down from 6800... think I could talk him downanother grand? car looks solid otherwise...

I go back to school in a week, I wonder how bad a 5 grand loan would run me...

is a car this cheap something to steer clear of, or is it a good deal?

guy also has some Fairlane verts for sale, and several '60s mustangs as well as an old Mach 1 and a 72 fastback which is 8500... dont know the conditions of, it was a list he had laying on the dash

he does have "make offer" written on the window in window paint. I got the numbers, could try, wouldnt hurt too, the main thing to get past, aside from a loan (broke college kid[:@]) is the rents... they already rant about the '86 taking up the driveway from time to time...

but the '72 runs...

Just remember the parts for a '71-'73 will be pricier and harder to obtain. Though, I do have a complete (nearly) '73 convertible parts car...

5K is probably reasonable, but I'd start by offering 4k. Nothing wrong with some negotiatin'.
