I wish I could help on the rental, but consider this. I starting looking around my location to see how much some were and they started at $125 used in the paper. News are around $150-$200.

Pep Boys has one right now after rebate it is $99. I decided to buy one and if I dont want to keep it I can sell it in the local paper and atleast break even.

Instead of renting one, check craigslist, by a used one with a leveler. Then when you are done, put it back on craigslist and I bet it will be cheaper than renting one for the amount of time you will need it.

In the san diego area, there is usually one or two week that popup. Perhaps similar in your neck-o-d-woods

cheers

You might want to include what area you are looking in.

66 Green Fastback RULES!

I have needed a hoist and have scoured eBay for one, to no avail in my pricerange. I even found one guy 4 miles from me that refused to let me pick it up...he wanted ONE HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS to ship it 4 miles. Sheesh!

So, when I read this thread earlier today, I was so happy you mentioned Craigslist! I hadn't thought of that. Well, I found one 30 miles from me, it even came with a engine leveler, for (drumroll) $25 BUCKS! YIPPIE FOR ME!

So, thanks for the suggestion. I plan on using it and then passing on the excellent deal to someone else. No reason to not make someone elses day!
