I have had a '69 Sportsroof stripped to the bare shell for about ten years and finslly am getting back around to working on it. The problem I have is the original stainless steel VIN tag was removed by the previous owner when he stripped the interior down. The VIN stamping on the shock tower and the title match and I know the previous two owners personally so I amcertain that the car was not stolen.

My question is, can someone send me a picture of what an original "69 dashboard VIN tag looks like? I had a repro made and I now need to form it to what the original was like, which I have no idea what it would look like.

Can someone help a brother out?

That would be great but if not I could figure it out from a picture of one installed without the dashpad around it.

In 1969 the vin plate was located inside the windshield drivers side of the vehicle. Hope that helps you out??

Look at this listing. It shows the window VIN tag in one of the pics. Buy the car while you're at it.
