Undercoating ... what have you used
On my coupe I used the eastwood rust encapsulator and applied a eastwood semi-gloss top coat - looks really nice and eays to apply - cost, shipping included, was about $100
On the fastback, I am tempted to use a ruberized undecoating from Dupli-color (autozone) - the apparent benefits are that it costs less than eastwood products, it protects from rust as well, and it can be top coated with any color ...I am not sure on the finish quality once dried,I am testing it on my transmission shaft and will put up a picture later on
Any feedback and pictures are welcome

If rust is already present on the underside of the car, I would say to remove or convert that, and then undercoat it. Undercoating stops junk from getting to the metal, but if its already on the car, you just trapped it inside.
www.jcwhitney.com has a gallon jug of brush on rubberize undercoating. Has the consistency(and look) of thick chocolate pudding. I did the underside of mine in about a 1 1/2 gallons, but I put it on pretty thick in some spots and got the nooks and crannies.
DONT use the can-spray kind! You will make a MESS everywhere and it'll cost alot more. Thats good for small things that come off the car. I used it for the underside of my new gastank.

I used a spray can for the transmission shaft - I am not sure I like the finished look - the eastwood product is epoxy based, am putting up pictures of the shaft and undercoating of the coupe for comparison on the finish
On the coupe, I did not have any rust, but applied rust encapsulator prior to applying the top coat
