undercoating question

Default undercoating question

So my Tranny that i just had rebuilt in january went out again so i have the engine and tranny out right now and i want to redo the undercoating and engine bay as far as the undercoating whats the best way to go about doing it? do i need to take the rear end off or can i leave it on whats the best way so that it will look good

I did my undercoating with the rear suspension in place and the rear axle in place - I think the final result looks pretty good - you can check it out on a post I put up yesterday about which materials to use to do the undercoating (I like the eastwood products) - let me know what you think ...

sweet thanks a lot man...one more question though does the rust converter work well or should it be sand blasted or what i mean there is only surface rust nothing major so with the rust converter work ok?

I did not have rust, so I used rust encapsulator as a primer to protect from any potential future rust, than applied a topcoat- I did not sandblast, I used a metal wire wheel and a lot of patience ! I am doing the same thing on my fastback but I think I will get the entire car blasted ... good luck with your project
