Productive Weekend..
Got a lot of stuff done on the 66 this weekend, the kind of stuff that I like putting off because it is a PITA, so it provided a great sense of acomplishment... We installed the Mustang Steve clutch cable kit, I have been putting this off for a while because installing this means working under the dash... [:@]... It works and fits perfectly, with a little creative cable routing.... In a perfect world the kit would be better for my speciffic application if thecable would have been eithertwo feet shorter, or one foot longer, so there is a loop in the cable down low, but it still looks and worksgreat!!!
Also we got the dual master cylinder installed and plumbed to our new SSBC adjustable proportioning valve, I had put this off because plumbing sucks, and I really despise double flaring, I have had many "redo" issues with this in the past, and it sucks redoing a tube that is perfectly fitted but is unusable due to a bad flare job.... This time all of my flares seem to be good. I do have one issue with this though, it seems as if the pushrod is shorter on the 67 master cylinder than the 66, which means that I need to find the old fruit jar, and try exchanging the rods,,, I hope that this resolves the issue, someone here knows if thissimple fix will workright?
We also were able to modify the I-6 throttle linkage to make it work with the V-8. This was acomplished by cutting the existing linkage and rewelding the arm into the proper place, lots of trial and error here, but the modified assembly in conjunction with a "heim jointstyle" linkage to the carburator works great.
We also managed to get a significant portion of the interior insulated with "be quiet", this seems to be a great product and it looks really nice too.
The drive shaft is currently at the driveline shop and should be ready today. I still need to get a permanant fuel line run, "nut and bolt" the car then we should be able to get to the muffler shop where we hope to be able to get the exhaust tied in. The exhaust may present an issue because the transmission mount is kind of in the way of a "straight shot"..... so I guess I will need to let the "pros" do this..... makes me nervous though...
So maybe by the end of the week we can be crusing if all goes well, just a monthpast my deadlineof being able to go to the MCOA show in Austin.... sorry again guys.... (almost forgot, we still need to install the subframe connectors too, I have been avoiding this also because it means removing the front spring bolts,,, I have heard too many bad reports about this procedure to be really be excited about doing it....)
Well if this all goes to plan, we will have only to finish paint and the a/c...... My son I am ready for that first "V-8"drive....

I remember the days when my son and I worked on our cars together. You guys remember these days forever, because you will talk about them many years down the road. Have mom take lots of pics so you can cherish the memories later on.

My daughter is 14, and in New Mexico kids get a permit at 15 and a license at 15 yrs and 7 months, so I don't have a lot of time to get her project done, and I really doubt that she will really get into the nuts and bolts of her build,,, I will need to get my sons to help...
After this one we have to my wifes project, and then we will get back to finishing my project that I have had since 1979, but never finished.... My project is a Ford,,, the other projects will remain anonymous on this forum....
