I tried to look it up. I got two answers:

1.They are stronger
2.They are oem

So which is it? Judging by the picture, it is obviously not oem.

I have an order ready on Mustangs Plus and I am waiting for the right answer so that I can submit!

price

there were 2 different kinds of export brace that i am aware of.
one bolted to brackets that were in turn welded to the outside of the shock tower. these were **** weak.
the other is per those pics where the firewall piece is as one and they bolt to the top of the shock tower.these are much stronger.

between concourse and standard from MP did they offer an explanation?

I think it may mean oem/stock looking pieces. I just placed the order, with the standard brace.

More evidence that it means original. It's a 'most stock' car show.

The difference is in the thickness of the steel used and the way it's formed. The more expensive one is formed to the original Ford specifications including the material thickness. The cheap one is exactly that - cheap. As to concourse acceptability, only cars exported to Europe were equipped with this type of brace from the factory, e.g. DSO's of 9x (for those that do not understand this type of notation, 'x' means any number between 0 and 9), so at a full blown concourse car show, you would loose points for having one. This did not apply to Shelbys which had a different mounting hole spacing at the firewall.

Well.....since the export brace was names the export brace because it was required on cars that were 'exported' it is hard to find an example of a stock one in the states other than the ones Shelby used on his cars. However the difference between the two links above is price and that warm fuzzy feeling guys get when they pull their micrometer out and say things like "The original OEM Ford export braced in cars exported to Europe was xxx.xxx thick stamped steel, this one you have is obviously a lower quality china stamping"

darnit....that's what happens when you start making a post and walk away from the PC for 2 hours. Someone else says the same thing.
