Default Best Parts Stores

Okay, where do you all buy your parts? What are your favorite stores to buy specific mustang parts? Which are the best?

NPD? Mustang Depot? Dallas Mustang? Cal-Mustang? Texas Mustang? Anything else?

Virginia Mustang and Mustang Plus are another couple decent ones. Personally I used Virginia Mustang for almost all the parts I needed.

I have used Virginia Classic Mustang, Dallas Mustang, CJ Pony Parts, and California Mustang. All are pretty decent and evenly priced on most things.

You generally want to buy from a vendor that's close to you to save on shipping. Most vendor's carry the same parts, but some carry things like body panels, etc. where others don't. Here is a list of all the vendors we can think of.

Aslo keep in mind the speciality stores like AMK http://www.amkproducts.com/for hardware and Ssnake Oyl Productshttp://www.ssnake-oyl.com/for seatbelts and seatbelt reconditioning.
The best advice is to shop around and don't 'fall in love' with any one supplier. Make recomendations FOR a particular vendor based on price, shipping, customer service, etc. In other words, be positive, don't be a whiner about some trivial incident you had. Remember, they are in the business to make money. Remember the crap with the fiberglass trunk lid from Mustangs Plus?

Generally speaking, I purchase most of my items from NPD. While other places may be a few bucks cheaper elsewhere on individual parts, NPD seems to be competitive across the board. What sets them above the others for me is their customer service. When you place an order you are informed instantly whether it is in stock (I've only had to wait for two parts out of the 100+ that I have purchased). Also, they are quick to box and get it out the door. If I order in the morning I have it at my door the next day. Although I pay sales tax, I am charged the Ventura County rate (7.75%) instead of my local L.A. County rate of (8.25%). Also, if the order is greater than $300 (with few exceptions), shipping is free.

That said, I've had almost entirely positive results with all of the Mustangs part vendors.

BTW, two thumbs up for AMK products that Jim listed above. The $300 spent for the master body and interior fastener kits was money well spent.

And I beat AMK because I re-do old hardware. Speaking of which. Where's my money Jeff?

I use almost exclusively Mustangs Unlimited. Great experience with them, they ship fast and provide excellent follow up on emails.

Only drawback: ordering thru their web site never worked for me. Always get an empty shipping page... Very annoying when you order long list of parts that are subject to human errors.

I use Dallas Mustang almost exclusively, because it's about a 45 minute drive away. Problem is, I think their quality kinda sucks. I may start looking elsewhere.
