hey well my dad just gave me his 66 fastback 289 mustang but its been sitting in the garage for a while and im trying to work on it and he told me that it needs a new carb but i really dont know what one to get?....i have about $800 to spend on it but i dont want to go to high i just want somthing that will make it rune good and look good sooo anyone????

 

What carb is on it now? Is the motor stock? If so, why not just get a rebuild kit and do it yourself. It is prob an autolite 21oo 2 barrel. Real easy to rebuild.

Then, spend your money on fixing other stuff that will need it.

 

I've had great results with a Holley 600 CFM.

Edelbrocks are good for bolt on and go applications.

 

If u dont wanna change the intake youll have to stick with the two barrel..Otherewise an intake and a holley 600 would be nice.
